Kumana National Park is located just10 km away from Arugam Bay Surf Resort and is easily reached from our hotel within less than an hour.
Kumana is a home for more than 200 species of birds and one of the most popular places to visit in Arugam Bay. Visitors can spot here elephants , deer, fox , wild boar, sloth bear, leopards and other inhabitants.
Arugm Bay Surf resort offers tours to Kumana twice a day, from 6 am till 1 pm and from 2 pm till 7 pm, avoiding lunch time when the wildlife in Kumana becomes busy with lunch and post mealtime sleep in the shade of the humble trees.
Yala National Park, Sri Lanka’s second largest national park is around 40 minutes away from Arugam Bay. Leopards, elephants, sloth bear, spotted deer and a large variety of birds, some of which are endemic to Sri Lanka, are found at the Park.
